I’m reading again. Not as much as I once did, because with everything I’m trying to do nowadays, that would be impossible. But I am getting lost in stories again, and that is an accomplishment to take note of.

I don’t know what happened when I first went to university two years ago. I brought several books with me that I hadn’t yet finished and at the time I estimated that they’d last me a month, if I was careful and read them slowly. Maybe it’s just that I’m a fast reader. Maybe this is something new that I’ve discovered about myself: I read books fast or not at all.

I am being forced to read books fast again. I have to read Fingersmith, by Sarah Waters, which is a 500 and 40 something page book, by Tuesday morning. Last week we had to read Ruth Ozeki’s A Tale For The Time Being, but in the week I had it, I only managed 130 pages or so before the library demanded I bring it back. Still, it was a good book and when it’s not in such high demand anymore, I’ll have to borrow it again to finish.

Fingersmith is shaping up to be good, too, although vastly different from A Tale For The Time Being. I’ll try to finish it and write a review. I haven’t put out a book review since…well, since the last time I finished an adult book.

I’m already behind on it though, since I’m trying to read 100 pages a day, so I’d better end this here. But first, I’d like to know what you’re reading! Is it any good? Have you got any books you want to recommend to me or anyone who checks out the comments? Say so below! It’ll be good to hear from you!

  1. You’ve got a lot of pages to get through in a short amount of time! How do you do it? I don’t know if I could do the same, I prefer to take my time with a book and allow myself time to really get to know the characters.
I’m currently reading The Falcon Throne by Karen Miller. She’s one of my favourite authors so of course I’ll recommend it ^^
