I recently read a great article “Minimalism is Just Another Boring Product Wealthy People Can Buy” which raised some great points about how minimalism and nice decor are out of reach for most people, and it got me thinking. The rooms and dorm rooms I’ve decorated over the last five years, could I have done those if it weren’t for my parents’ and my place of financial privilege? Answer: Probably not.
This haul is a collection of makeup I’ve accrued since Christmas. Some were gifts, some I bought for myself. Some I love, some not so much.
January is dangerous. It can make you think about what you’ve done and what you’re going to do, and whether it is enough.
Calgary has found itself in another deep freeze. January can be dreary like that. I think one of the best ways to beat the dreariness is by looking good. I subscribe to the idea that if you look good, you feel good. So in cold weather, what better way to stay warm than to look smoking hot?
I don’t even know what the rules are to these Favourites posts anymore. I’m just gonna put a bunch of fun stuff together in one place. Enjoy.
So I was watching a bunch of YouTube videos of people showing what they’d gotten for Christmas, and it kind of made me want to share what I’d gotten. Except I haven’t made a video in a while and it felt a bit weird for the first video in a while to be a bunch of gifts I’d received. So I’m doing it in blog post form, in the hopes that it doesn’t seem as self-centred when written down.
It’s officially winter (apparently it wasn’t before) and I have for you all a long-awaited, kind of late, (but worth it!) winter makeup haul.
This has a mix of free samples, drugstore products, and Sephora products.
