James likes Willow. Willow likes James. There’s nothing standing in their way…right?
Things have been happening and I’ve been absent. So much for writing my “two posts a week”. Sorry.
BUT I have news. Things are happening. Continue reading
Despite the fact that I’ve only written a single post since the beginning of this month, people have kept subscribing to my blog. I appreciate the vote of confidence, and I suppose I should start writing again to make your loyalty worthwhile. Continue reading
Every so often, I’ll have an idea for a story. This has been happening since long before I wrote. The ideas usually come right before bed or as soon as I wake up. I think it’s because that’s when I’m not busy with everything that normally occupies my mind. Unfortunately, it’s been a while since I’ve had a new story idea, but I had one this morning.
I hope you all had a good weekend!
Without work or university and with all my friends already leaving for other cities and countries, I’ve had to find my own reasons for leaving my room. Continue reading
It’s awkward posting again after a post like that, but I’m glad you all liked it so much. It’s now my most liked post of all time, so thank you.
Why do I write?
It’s bizarre to think back to fourteen-year-old me sitting at my desk one November afternoon and picking up a pen with one thought: The world needs more books. Back then I had absolutely zero intentions of becoming a writer. I was bored and I wanted to read, but I had run out of books so I did the next best thing and wrote. My plan was to write five or so chapters just to get the writing bug out, but here I am over six years later, still writing.
In class this week we were thinking about what makes us the kind of writers we are. This was good timing because I’ve been thinking a lot lately about the writer I am, the writer I want to be, and the writer I will most likely end up being. All three are fairly different from each other, considering they’re all me, but I guess it’s hard to imagine the future. It’s easier to look back at what got me here. Continue reading
This morning I got an email saying my last two assignments from last semester were ready to be picked up. I got a little excited and went straight to collect them even though I was late for a meeting. It would have been embarrassing if my marks had been bad. Thankfully they were not. In fact, they were two of the best marks I’ve ever gotten in university.
It is not yet December, but the first wave of homesickness has hit. It’s small and manageable, but it’s early. I don’t usually start feeling homesick until the semester has officially ended and I’m a few days away from going back to Canada. Hopefully it won’t get to be too bad before I go home again. I did a tag thing and answered all the questions and was about to tag people at the very end when my internet decided to go kaput and I lost everything.
I am now saving everything I write as soon as I write it.
But I’ll stop saying ‘save’ now because I can see how that could get annoying.
