(#4) Weeklies

Ugh. Today is the third day I’ve been sick, but at least I’m finally starting to feel better. Happy New Year indeed. In other news, poker season is over and I managed to either break even or profit from every single game. Not bad for my first full season. Now I’ve got to turn my attention to two massive school assignments due in two weeks. For Non-fiction, I’m writing about Thomas Edison: the classic¬†white-collar criminal (Not the first, but one of the most well-known). For Textual Intervention, for some reason I decided to make a comic. Why? Because we were studying the gothic genre this term, and I’m not a huge gothic fan, so I thought I’d get as far away from that as I can. Hopefully, I won’t be docked marks for that.

Anyway, here are this week’s weeklies!

To be honest, besides partying and poker, I haven’t done very much this past week.

Party food:

Chips and dip. So simple, so good.

Poker Hand:

Full House. Nearly impossible to beat, and of the three times I had it, I took people out and collected a jackpot every time.

Alcoholic drink:

Sparkling wine. I only had two sips for the new year, but it doesn’t leave a bad after taste.

Yup. That’s pretty much all of it. Happy 2015!

(#3) Weeklies!

I feel like I should apologize for my “review” of Big Hero 6. A whole year of Film Studies and all I could come up with is “it’s awesome”. But it really was. In comparison, I saw the latest Hobbit movie last night (yes, Christmas Night) and…well, you’ll get to read about that when I get to it.

Here are this week’s Weeklies:

Movie: Big Hero 6

What a surprise.

Clothing Store: Aritzia

My sister and I took advantage of their Boxing Day sale today. It was crazy crowded, but we found three things each for ourselves, so we didn’t mind! ūüėČ

Christmas Gift:

Intuos Pen Tablet

My cousin got it for me in the Secret Santa Exchange between the older cousins.

So basically, I’ve been really spoiled.

(#2) Weeklies!

It’s late and I’m tired, so I’ll make this quick.

Books:

Maggie Stiefvater’s “Lament” ¬©2008

I’m only 57 pages in, but Stiefvater has yet to disappoint.

Movies:

Jiro Dreams of Sushi

A documentary about a dedicated sushi master. I saw it on the plane home and would definitely recommend.

Websites:

http://tradingvoyageur.com

It has some interesting articles on things like travel and street art..it also happens to be run by my cousin.

Blogs:

iamasexual.tumblr.com

I’ve submitted to them before and they’ve promoted my “I Have A Superpower” article, so yeah. They’re pretty cool.

IMG_0563Food:

Salmon, avocado, and a poached egg in a paper cup.

I chose it at random for breakfast at Heathrow before my flight and was pleasantly surprised by how good it was despite seeming like an odd mix.

I’ll have something more substantial tomorrow. Promise.

(#1) Weeklies!

I have handed in my last assignment before the Christmas break today! *Insert generic celebratory onomatopoeia here*

Today also marks the end of my first successful week of daily blogging! I think that’s a personal record, if you don’t include Tumblr. I don’t.

You know what I just realized right now while writing this? I’m listening to music on my laptop and my earbuds are in my ears, but they aren’t plugged in. I’m just listening to the music on the speakers with pointless earbuds on.

Okay I fixed that.

I’m still finding my footing, but I’d say it’s been a great first week! As of last night, I have had 10 likes on my blog and fourteen followers (some who are just spam and one who is me, but they all count). So thank you for reading this if you are (or will be) one of the people who like what I’m doing on here.

I did some thinking and I came up with a posting schedule for the different kinds of posts I’ll be putting up here. I have something different for every day of the week, and–like yesterday–I may put two up in a day on occasion. I’ll reveal what type of posts each day is going to have as I go along this week. For Fridays, I’m going to be doing something I call Weeklies! Basically, I summarize my week with a few things I love from that week.

Here are today’s Weeklies:

TV Shows:

– Arrow Midseason Finale

It cut the head off of the other shows with season finales and overshadowed it’s own crossover with Flash, just saying.

Songs:

– Any Other World by MIKA

Films:

– Interstellar (2014, Dir. Christopher Nolan)

Filmed just outside my hometown. My sister was an extra but I don’t think she actually shows up in the final film. At least she got to meet Matthew McConaughey.

Things:

Small Pink Artificial Christmas Trees

It’s almost scary how sparkly my shirt is. It takes guts¬†to wear a shirt like this out!

People:

– IT guys

True life savers, each and every one.

Clothes:

– My sparkly shirt from TopShop

I can’t find it on the website, so I must’ve gotten it on sale.¬†I probably wouldn’t pay full price for such a shiny shirt anyway.

Websites:

–¬†Apartment Therapy

It’s the only thing keeping me sane when I think back to my unfinished bedroom at home. (I also have plans for the garden shed. Don’t tell my dad, he still thinks he’ll keep the lawnmower in there.)

That’s all for today! Come back tomorrow to see what kind of posts I will put up on Saturdays!
