You may notice a couple of things that are new. Firstly, there is a countdown on the right side of my blog. It shows how many days are left before this blog is a year old. Crazy, isn’t it? I’ve had this blog for almost a full year!
Also, I got my first paycheck from my new job on Saturday. I think that makes this a good time to (finally!) introduce PrecariousWriter.com! How’s that different from before? It’s not really, it’s just that there’s no “.wordpress” in there anymore. It’s all my own.
You may notice the blog change in appearance every once in a while over the next few days. Don’t be alarmed, that’s just me playing around with stuff. The blog has looked like this for around six months now, and I get bored easily, so I’m going to try a few things and see how I like them and hopefully by the time the counter hits zero, I’ll have settled on something good.
It’s been a while since I’ve posted poetry. Here’s one I wrote nearly two years ago now. I came across it again recently and thought it held up pretty well.
What You Think
Say I’m pretty
Say I’m smart
Call my ugly
Call me dumb
Either way
It’s not my fault
I did nothing
To have this luck
I can’t help
What I am
You’re the one
To point it out
That makes it
Your problem
Not mine
So stop
Talking to me
About it
However
You can still
Recognize
How lazy I am
Or hard working
You can tell me
If I’m ignorant
Trustworthy
Cowardly, brave
Kind, or cruel
If you admire
My choices
Or if you
Disagree
I will listen
To what
You think
Of me
