I completely forgot Weeklies even existed. The last time I did one was way back in June. Oops.
Anyway, I spent the weekend job hunting so I didn’t have any one thing to write a post about. Thus, I have revived Weeklies where I can talk about a bunch of little things in a post.
Book: A Tale For The Time Being by Ruth Ozeki. I didn’t get to finish it before having to return it to the library, but I’m on the waiting list again. Apparently it’s a really popular book, and it was nominated for the Man Booker Prize.
TV Show: Now this is strange. A TV show caught my attention not with advertisements all over the place, but through repeated exposure. First I kept seeing it on tumblr because one of my friends got into it. Then I saw some interviews on YouTube of Rami Malek, who plays the main character. Then I noticed that it’s pretty high on the iTunes charts, especially for a new show. It was up there with seventh or tenth seasons of really popular, highly-marketed shows. So I tried it out, and I loved every second of the longer-than-an-hour pilot. It was like watching a blockbuster movie or something. I can’t wait to start the second episode!
Music: Misterwives. A friend introduced them to me a week ago and now I can’t get them out of my head. This song is called Vagabond, which is the one in my head at the moment, but I also like Our Own House and Reflections. You should check them out.
