I wanted to call this “A Summary of Every Film-Related Thing Happening in My Life in the Last Six Months” because that’s a more descriptive and enticing title, but it’s a bit long. Similar to the quite-long title of a movie I’m in called “Events Transpiring Before, During, And After A High School Basketball Game” which is coming out soon. Here’s the trailer:
I’m really excited about this one. If it was a normal year, I’d be picking out an outfit for the red carpet at the Calgary International Film Festival, the third biggest film festival in Canada after the Toronto International Film Festival (of course) and the Vancouver International Film Festival, which Events Transpiring is also showing at. But, this isn’t a normal year, so unfortunately I won’t be going to attend the local red carpet for the film. There is however a good thing to come out of this, which is that it will be made available online and you don’t have to be in Calgary to watch it!
Events Transpiring (with Andrew Phung from Kim’s Convenience!) will be available to watch online in BC, Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba, and Ontario.
If you’re in British Columbia, you can get tickets and showtimes by clicking here.
If you’re in Alberta, Saskatchewan, or Manitoba, you can get tickets and showtimes by clicking here.
If you’re in Ontario, you can get tickets and showtimes by clicking here.
And if you plan on watching Events Transpiring at one of these festivals, consider getting a bundle deal on tickets and catching some of the other amazing Canadian films available at the film festivals alongside it. I for one am excited to watch Vagrant and Jasmine Road, both Alberta-made.
ALSO

Super Roommates: Izzy’s Vlog is also coming out soon. It’s the short web series episode I created in place of Super Roommates and has already gotten two laurels. In addition, it’s showing at Cochrane Culture Days on Sunday, and afterward I’m giving a talk about the rise and fall of Super Roommates and how Izzy’s Vlog came to be. That’s kind of exciting. I’ve been to film industry talks hoping to learn from peers and professionals, but I’ve never done one myself. We’ll see how that goes. Whatever happens, Izzy’s Vlog will be out on YouTube Sunday night. You can subscribe here so you don’t miss it.

And while you’re there, you can take a look at the trailer for Phone Call. It got another laurel and will be showing at the Airdrie Film Festival on the 25th! Which is the day before Events Transpiring has its first showing at CIFF. As you can see, a lot of film things are happening at once. It makes me feel like everything’s really exciting, but then I close my laptop and realize I’ve been to a single social event in the last six months and suddenly my life doesn’t seem so exciting any more.
Anyway, here’s the trailer for Phone Call, which we managed to film by cramming eight people into a room for a weekend in February 2019 and wow things have certainly changed.
And while I’m at it, you can get more regular updates on the Foolish Fox Films Instagram or Facebook pages if you want to follow my production company goings-on.
So that’s about it, at least for projects that were filmed a while ago and are coming out now. I suspect in a week or two, I’ll have a post about filming in a pandemic, so make sure you’re following the blog so you don’t miss that!
