Video editing is such a particular kind of work. There’s no hiding from it, and I kind of like that.

Production Day 1: Friday the 13th
Super Roommates began filming on Friday the 13th of March. It was amidst a snowstorm, and there was an accident on Deerfoot, so I arrived on set after pretty much all my cast & crew, but our location still wasn’t available to us until fifteen minutes after our call time so it wasn’t bad. Yet.

Producing a Web Series
On Thursday November 28th, Storyhive announced which 40 web series pilots they’ve decided to fund. Mine was one of them.

Pitching a Web Series
I haven’t been posting as much lately as I should have, but that is because for the last month or so, I’ve been working on a web series. If you follow my reading/writing blog Precarious Reader, you may have read my post Derailed in which I mentioned that I had put aside the novel on which I’d been working for over nine years. I’d had an idea for a web series and I wrote two episodes, and then I got busy with some other stuff for a while and wasn’t sure where to go from there anyway.
Ming’s Dynasty
Way back in December, I got cast in my first union role as Kelli in Ming’s Dynasty. I got to be on set for two days for this project and it was so much fun! The project itself is also super funny and creative.
Nearly Nine Years
When I approached the counter of the Starbucks I’m currently writing this from, the barista, Michelle, greeted me by name. This Starbucks is across the city from where I live, so this was slightly concerning. However, it’s five minutes from Heritage Park where I’ve been going to rehearsal five times a week for the last two months.
Summer’s Monster
In November last year, I was lucky enough to play Hanna in Snowshoe & Monster, a webseries pilot for Telus Storyhive. We had three days and $10K to make the best pilot we could.
In February, the finished Snowshoe & Monster pilot came out and was one of two pilots chosen to make five more episodes with $50K.

The Start
2018 has been interesting in a good way. As with nearly every year, 2018 started with parties. Then there were a few days of chilling and getting organized in preparation for the upcoming year.
