Sundays are ‘Anything Goes’ days. If I’ve got something to write, I will. If I need a break, I’ll take it. If I just want to post a bunch of pictures or a YouTube video, I will. Today, I will write a good old-fashioned post.

Foxy, our rescue, in her Halloween hat.

Tomorrow I will leave for home. The flat has been empty since yesterday morning and the campus is sort of eerie without the usual business going on. Even though Calgary is currently 14ºc colder, I’m eager to return home. In the past, I’ve felt the same way after three or so months, but three days after getting back would find me ready to leave again. However, after moving out with my dad over the summer, and adopting Foxy, my fluffy mutt, I can’t imagine that happening this time around. We’ll see. It makes me wonder whether I would have gone so far away for my post-secondary education had the events of this summer taken place two years ago. Probably not, but not because I didn’t want to go to England. Because, had my parents been separated and in the middle of a divorce, they would have had better reasons for me to stay. I’m not sure I would have been able to shake them had that been the case. Don’t get me wrong: I love my both my parents. It’s just a too-much-of-a-good-thing kind of deal, you know? Spending nineteen years with the same people, sans break, can be exhausting. Just ask my parents: they went twenty-five.

Anyway, I’ll have to be up at 5:30am at the latest. If this morning was anything to go by, that is going to be difficult. I’ve ordered a taxi for 6, booked a coach (a bus for long-distances) for 6:35, and I’ll be going through security at around eight or nine. My flight’s at twelve, so I’ll do some duty-free Christmas Shopping while I wait. Maybe get something to eat, since I don’t expect I’ll have much besides a granola bar.  Then I’ll be on my way to…Toronto. Where I’ll wait another five hours before I finally board a plane that’s actually heading home. Well, I’ll have a lot of time on my hands.

Have I mentioned, yet, that on any given day, I might not post something strictly relevant to whatever the theme for that day is? Just in case I do it in the future and you get confused.

If tomorrow’s post is late and shows up on Tuesday, please remember two things: One, there’s a time difference of seven hours between Winchester and Calgary, and two, I will have woken way too early and traveled way too far with suitcases that are way too heavy so I probably fell asleep before I could write my post. If the post isn’t late, then hooray! Either way, I’ll talk to you later!
