It can be the most awkward thing running into someone from high school who you don't really know well enough to say hi to. That happened today as I was window shopping while waiting for my dog Foxy to receive her annual grooming. She came out of it looking like a big pom-pom, like the … Continue reading Everything
My Room So Far…
Previously, on My Room... Last August, I was presented with a new bedroom and the challenge of decorating it within a budget and a simple set of rules: I can't use black paint, I can't replace the carpet, and I have to do all my own painting. I set fourth with an ambitious plan and … Continue reading My Room So Far…
Precarious, Indeed
It's weird being home and seeing high school friends, whether by accident, by appointment, or on Facebook. At university it was great being surrounded by people with similar interests as me. Lots of my uni friends do Creative Writing and we can talk about the possibilities for future employment as journalists, teachers, authors, and more! … Continue reading Precarious, Indeed
Coming in Summer 2015
My summer schedule is quickly filling up. Not only am I still working on my bedroom, looking at possible summer jobs, and hoping to fit in some classes, but there's also the possibility of a few day trips, some camping, and other summer-y things. There should be no shortage of things to blog about this … Continue reading Coming in Summer 2015
Friends and Family
I was trying so hard to get used to the idea of my little brother getting older. For the past three months I was going around in a stupor, repeating to myself "Bub's going to be twelve soon. Bub's going to be twelve soon." I convinced myself of it. Then I got home and discovered he … Continue reading Friends and Family
Mad Max: Fury Road
No Spoilers. Sort of. I don't think there are, anyway. Not what I would categorize as spoilers, at least. I've finally seen Mad Max: Fury Road. The film hit the ground running and sprinted towards the credits. There's barely a moment when you aren't holding onto something: your face, your chair, your stomach, your breath. This … Continue reading Mad Max: Fury Road
Flying Companions
I meant to write yesterday but thanks to the roundness of the Earth, I was out like a light by 8pm. Not to worry, I will catch you up on everything that has been going on. After Paris, I stayed with Sarah and her family until yesterday when I had a morning flight back home … Continue reading Flying Companions
Travelling
I managed to fit in some last minute souvenir shopping before we caught our train back to London. We took our heavy suitcases on the Metro, and at the station (Gare du Nord, same way we came) we got some snacks and I bought lipstick that made me look like an assassin (according to Sarah). … Continue reading Travelling
Paris Day 11: One Last Hurrah
Today we went for lunch on a Seine River cruise. We had good food as we passed a bunch of the famous landmarks, some that we've visited, others that we haven't. There was live music and lots of wine and people waving from the sidewalks by the river. It felt very fancy. Afterwards, we just … Continue reading Paris Day 11: One Last Hurrah
Paris Day 10: Shopping
I think I put off writing this post because I couldn't bring myself to write the title with double digits. Has it been ten days already? Our trip is almost over! Yesterday was good, but Sarah and I didn't do any touristy stuff. Instead we went shopping. I told my sister I'd get her something … Continue reading Paris Day 10: Shopping
