Faves: December 2017

I don’t even know what the rules are to these Favourites posts anymore. I’m just gonna put a bunch of fun stuff together in one place. Enjoy.

An entertaining YouTube video:

They Both Die At The End by Adam Silvera

A bit of a downer, but also endlessly inspiring, containing two additions to my list of favourite fictional characters, a pair perfectly partnered. A sweet story. I could do a review if anyone wants it. Let me know in the comments.

Also, just look at the beautiful and genius cover (design by Erin Fitzsimmons and art by Simon Prades). Notice their shadow? And the sky? Gaahhhh gorgeous.

Almost Lipstick in Black Honey by Clinique

Sephora offered this in their 100 point rewards and I got it and now I’m contemplating buying the full size in every colour they have. The girl at the counter said the colour was meant to compliment every skin colour, and while I can only test it with my own, I can easily imagine the colour looking amazing on anyone.

The concept is pretty awesome, a bit like a tinted lip balm, a little more pigmented, and in a thinner tube shaped like lipstick. It’s super moisturizing and looks natural, even when the colour is several shades darker than my actual lips. I love it.

In terms of music, I’ve been going through an 70s-80s phase. My top song of the month was Killer Queen by, well, Queen.

I live in Calgary, Canada where I was born and raised, but I lived in Winchester, England for three years while in university. When I was fourteen, I decided there weren’t enough books in the world and set out to make more. Since then, I’ve been writing non-stop and aim to work in the book industry. I have two blogs: PrecariousWriter.com is my personal blog where I'll write about anything. PrecariousReader.com is book and writing-related posts including reviews, poems, short stories and articles.
